2016 PL Week Four

Welcome back for Week Four of my Project life album! This week, I used a lot of ephemera and dug deep into my stash to channel my inner Kelly Purkey (ice cream and coffee shops!), plus I added an insert for my beau's birthday. This is probably my favorite layout so far! Read on for more...

I am really digging the light blue and orange color scheme of this week because it is so unexpected amongst a sea of light pinks and peaches that have been around recently. This was a fun layout to do!

I used Kelly Purkey's idea on the photo of all of our food at lunch. I added wood veneers from the crop I went to for everyone's initials by their plates, then I wrote the rest of their names in white pen. That's just in case I forgot who was there and what they ate! :P

This is a filler card from my SC stash. I ADORE plus signs, so I used up some Citrus Twist puffy stickers, putting them over the plus signs already on the design. I added a "pretty things" wood veneer arrow to help fill up the card a bit more. I also like using arrows and the cork chevron washi to keep the eye moving over the layout.

The "today" stamped card is an idea lifted directly from Geralyn Sy, a CT member at Studio calico. It is a cute way to fill up a spot and make your own journal card from stamps you already have!

I used one of the Citrus Twist puffy stickers and a roller stamp from SC on this ice cream pic.

This is a coffee sleeve from a coffee shop and the business's card. I layered it on some brown/kraft cardstock I embossed at the crop in a wood pattern. It's subtle but I like the effect. The blue and white ruler is from a 6x6 Citrus twist sheet. The other ephemera used in this layout are the receipt from lunch and a napkin from the ice cream place that I cut up and mounted on cardstock in the top right corner. I love the orange and kraft colors! I also added the orange business card from the ice cream place.

I loved the look of this chevron wood patterned paper (are we noticing a theme...?) but it was too dark and overwhelming as a 3x4. So I cut it in half diagonally and used my fuse to make a divided pocket filled with star confetti. I knew what I wanted to use the other side for, so hurrah for planning ahead!

This is the insert I used for my boo's birthday. He is such a trooper posing for a million pictures before he ate his steak. The is the ultimate Instagram Husband!

I cut the bottom card from my silhouette and filled up the pocket with gold glitter from my stash. Make sure to use large glitter pieces if you do this, as the little glitter will make its way through the tiny holes the fuse leaves. I layered some Studio Calico cork numbers on a circle I cut out from some patterned paper onto the photo.

Here is the spread with the insert to the right. I am going to add a tab so it doesn't look like the divider is part of the next page.

Here is the page with the divider to the left.

This is the back of the divider. Since I just got a sewing machine, I added a bit of sewing to the orange card in the middle. I LOVE how my journaling came out on the top card! I used my fiance, microsoft word, and a lot of patience to create a text box with a triangle on the side to allow for the second piece of chevron wood patterned paper. I added one of the blue rulers from the Citrus twist kit to give it a little blue and one of the puffy stickers from December's Studio Calico kit that says "cheers" to echo the gold from the glitter. I LOVE this insert!

That's it for Week Four. Thanks for reading! Make sure you follow me on bloglovin' if you like what you're reading! :)
