2016 PL Week Eight
Still trying to keep it simple with this week's 2-page spread plus a full-page 12x12 cut down. My birthday was this week so I used some bright colors and a "statement" wood veneer! Click through for more!
This top left photo is a from-above photo of my epic birthday brunch. I loved the colors and they fit so well with the color scheme- the red raspberries and yellow egg yolks. I added the "beautiful" die cut from Citrus Twist. I love these so much! I want to figure out a good font to make these myself on my Cameo. Does anyone have a suggestion for me? I L-O-V-E the way this looks!
So here is a card where I really restrained myself from overdoing it. Just a simple wood veneer tiny attached with a stamp from Citrus Twist.
So this is me making good use of my Thickers stash and finding the perfect use for the "hilarious" die cut from Citrus Twist. This is going to be a flip up card and underneath will be a very funny story from work. I can't add it quiet yet because it will seal the pocket closed and I still need to add next week.
This is a fun photo I took of my boo and I taking a walk. I blew up and cropped a vertical 4x6 to 6x8 and cut it to fit in the pockets. I added the wood veneer/pink ombre paper with a wood veneer from the Fancy Pants warehouse box. I like how the photo makes it graphic and how the 6x12 group divides the page a bit and it's like its own mini layout.
I ahve been dying to use this plus-sign patterned paper from Citrus Twist! I used a puffy sticker from CT and a grey word sticker from Studio Calico. I like how the phrases work together from these two kits.
In the end, I think that all the colors on this page work together because they are all equally saturated. The yellow, blue, and pink are all bright so, even though i didn't have one dominant color, they all look like they "go" together. A few other things I tried to work in were horizontal stripes in my journaling cards and "February favorites" card, and 2 cards have a pink ombre look. I also made sure to add a few wood veneers to work those throughout the layout.
This is the 12x12 photo. These are flowers I got for my birthday. So pretty! I printed out a 12x12 on my home printer on 4 8.5x11s (such a task!) and cut it down to fit. I added chipboard stickers from an Amy Tangerine pack I got at Tuesday Morning. I love bold pages like this!
Thanks for reading!
