Welcome back for my one-page week thirteen layout using a mix of Studio Calico and Citrus Twist kits, as well as an awesome freebie from Peppermint Creative!
Since it's the end of the month, I'm using up the dregs of my March kits. It's always interesting to see what's left. I've been making a real effort to use the things I like instead of hoarding them. But sometimes I can't help but hang on to things and the end of the month is my cue to "use it or lose it." And by "lose it" I mean file it away into my stash and forget I have it!

So at the end of the month, I have a mish mash of colors left over, so my challenge was to use them all and make it fit.

No, I did not make a peepee puddle under my feet. This is
supposed to be a photo of the rain!
I had committed to this red card and I felt like it stuck out like a sore thumb, so I set to find something to make it work into the color scheme.

I did some digging in my digital stash and I came across this excellent free printable (left) from Peppermint Creative. You can find it here. I loved the way it incorporated so many of the colors in a really graphic way. It also has a color that is rather close to the poppy red of the card above. I love how this fit in and I was glad to reach into my saved files to solve the color dilemma. The background paper on the right is Maggie Holmes Bloom by Crate Paper.

I am a little bit obsessed with the papers from Maggie Holmes Bloom collection that have the fringe print. For the embellishment on the right, I used a cut apart from the 6x6 paper pack, cut the different colors horizontally, then clipped into each layer to make a little fringe. Then I sewed each piece onto the patterned paper with my adorable Janome mini sewing machine and curled up the edges to give it some texture. I love this and I think it looks like a pinata! The "good vibes" is from the Studio Calico Homespun kit.

I was apparently obsessed with fussy cutting this week, so to add some color to my weekly calender card, I cut out the chevron pattern from the 6x6 paper and attached to the white space on the edges of the card.

More fussy cutting and more sewing for this filler card. And a little bit of stamping for the card on the right.

The card on the right is one of the cards that I was hoarding. I decided to USE IT so I layered a piece of the cut apart, sewed around the edges and voila, a very simple and cute filler card!

Thanks for reading, I hope you like it!
