Spring Cherry Blossoms

Hello everyone! Today I wanted to share a 12x12 pocket page layout I did using some of the goodies I got from Basic Grey's warehouse box sale. The photos I was working with were from a visit to DC in 2014 at the peak of Cherry Blossom season! So, I know I wanted to go full-on floral. I had these Basic Grey die cut flowers from the Saturday Morning collection and I knew they were the right fit!
The way they come in the package is just as shown below:

I was frankly very intimidated about making these flowers and I googled forever to try to find a method! I shouldn't have been so scared, though. It is really as simple as layering and gluing / sewing / stapling the layers together. If you purchased these or got them in the warehouse box and are as intimidated as I was, just leave a little comment down below or contact me on instagram and I'll make up a wee tutorial showing how I did it.

I tried to vary the size- one was to fill up an entire pocket and two others were just little embellishments in other pockets. I topped each cluster off with a button even though I never use buttons and they came out... as cute as a button! (Sorry, I couldn't resist...)

Here is a closeup of the biggest flower. I did some gluing, stapling, and sewing to hold this guy together.I started each flower with one of the larger white pieces to use as a background so the flower would stand out more against the pink paper. I also added leaves so it would be a little wonky and asymmetrical.

For my journaling card, I added a small flower on the center of a strip of patterned paper and printed my journaling on to some pink paper. Because this is the front of my page protector, I let the flower peek out the top a little bit.

The background paper is called Grace from the Basic Grey Dear Heart collection. The paper could not be better for the Cherry Blossoms!

Since this album is chronological but not weekly or monthly, I added a title card.

I chose the Crate Paper Craft Market Thickers because I love how they come in different colors, but all coordinate together!

It really should have said "Cherry Blossoms" but I couldn't fit the extra "s" in there! I topped it off by adding some washi from a Studio Calico kit to underline the title.

That's it for this page! Pretty simple, once I got the hang of putting those cute little flowers together. Thanks for reading!
