First dog TN layout

As I mentioned on insta a little while ago, I decided to make traveler's notebooks for both of my doggies. (Such a millenial move, eh?) I wanted a place to gush about each of them! This is the notebook for my littlest (and first) dog, Maddie.

I used some old patterned paper that I would probably never use for a regular layout and I wanted to make use of it.

The first page of each of the books is a long-form ode to how each of them came into my life and, in Maddie's case, a photo of the day I got her (11 years ago! I look so young!). I added a scalloped pink trim to this page because I liked the texture of it but I regretted it almost immediately. As you can see, the pink pokes out of every single layout in the book and that's not always my color scheme! But it's glued down, so I will live with it.

Here are some closeups of the layering and stamping I did. I used some random bits from my stash and a large paper from the Kelly Purkey traveler's notebook kit. The color scheme is red and green, pulled from the photo and I tried very hard to avoid a Christmas look. This layout is all about my little yorkie's obsession with balls of all sizes.

I love this blurry photo that captures her in action when she was a young pup and she looked like a stuffed animal. I considered writing my journaling on my computer but I really like how my handwriting turned out on this spread. I also liked how this circle stamp, though only tangentially related to my subject matter, echoed the circle/ball-theme of the layout.

I know that this is so cheesy, but since both of my doggies are seniors, I love having a place to keep all of their personality and quirks and I know someday I will be happy I wrote down all of this. I love my dog kids!
