Vacation mini album

Today I am sharing a spread I made using the Fancy Pants Happy Place collection in my pocket-style 6x8 mini album of my 2014 beach vacation.

Recently, I posted a tutorial on how I made a gold-dipped look die cut using my Silhouette and Silhouette chipboard. I wanted to share with you all the page that I made it for! (Yes, I am posting a photo of me in a bathing suit on the internet! Bravery wins today!)

This is the front, it's one of my favorite photos from the vacation of me and my boo on the beach. The taupe polka dot is a 4x6 card from the Seafoam Core Kit that I cut down to 4x4. The colors in that kit (unsurprisingly) match really well with a sand/beach theme! The little arrow/chevron stickers are from the Happy Place puffy sticker pack. The paper blossom (I guess they are called "delights"?) are from Maggie Holmes Shine. The colors matched so well! I decided to add the arrows in lots of colors because the page seemed a little flat with just the teal and sand colors. It also will tie into whatever page is next to it in the album, since I'll be using the same colors throughout.

The back of the page is a photo from our balcony on the trip with a puffy sticker word from the same Happy Place puffy sticker pack as the triangles. The yellow triangle paper is from the Happy Place 6x6 paper pack and the flair is from the same collection.

I really liked these photos and thought for a long time about a way to showcase them in a really special way. All in all, very happy with hwo this came out! I love how versatile the Happy Place collection is! Also, as a pocket scrapper, I sometimes feel like we get left behind with all the gorgeous 12x12 papers and new collections. I love that you can pick up a 6x6 pad and some coordinating extras and get the same thrill that traditional scrappers do when they go shopping!

Thanks for reading! I hope you liked it!

  1. This is a great size for an album. I didn't know you could get them in this size, now I want one.
