Mini album pages

Hi, and thanks for coming back for another post! I've been making a lot of progress on my mini album and I wanted to share these 2 new pages. These photos document an awesome hike we took on our mini moon in Michigan. It was so fall-like and beautiful!

I took my instax camera on this trip and I am incorporating the photos into my pockets. I think they add so much character, there's just something about an item that can't be reproduced. On the other hand, I think the quality is just terrible, so I decided to mix them up into my normal photos.

For this spread, I used the Gossamer Blue kit I talked about in this post. There were so many adorable filler cards in it, so instead of hoarding them, I just decided to use them. The colors were perfect for our fall hike.

I absolutely loved that card on the top left because I dig the an ombre look, even though it was rather pale. I used it for my title card and stamped "family hike" in Feed Your Craft alpha stamps to add some contrast. I stapled on a heart from the GB kit and it was done. I added a chipboard (one of my favorite embellishments for pocket pages) to the bottom left card and that was done!

Normally, I would stagger my photos so 2 photos are never next to or on top of one another, but, in this case, the photo of us smooching and the dark blue card were both very visually "heavy" so I split those up. I stapled the instax down on a filler card and added a strip of coordinating washi from my stash to the top so the card wouldn't look so bottom heavy.

I also loved the quilt-like print on the top right card on this size, so I added a strip of washi (to tie it in to the whole spread) and added another chipboard piece. I tried to add some embellishments to the card on the bottom right, but it ended up being too busy. I think that card speaks for itself!

Also, how adorable is my hubby with our little dog. She got tired of hiking and he had to carry her and it was just so so so cute!

Thanks for reading! I am having so much fun adding these instax photos to my spreads and I want to see how all of you instax-owners handle your little snaps!
